It's always a joy to wander around the #NGA sculpture garden. Placing art within nature is stunning, amplified by changing light and shadows at different times of the day. Yesterday's afternoon light didn't disappoint. Here's a sample.

James Turrell's 'Within without' lighting installation.
Image shows the reflection of the dome on the turquise water surrounding it.

"We enter the work via a long sloping walkway. Inside is a large square-based pyramid with soft red ochre interior walls. A stupa made of Victorian basalt rises at the centre, highlighted by turquoise water. The stupa contains the viewing chamber—a simple domed space, open to the sky. A moonstone, set into the centre of the floor, echoes the oculus above."

Close to us floating on the water of a shallow pond is a single large tan coloured leaf. There are slate coloured rocks and pebbles visible under the water as we look across it towards large shrubs and water reeds planted on the other side. The plants are reflected on the still crystal clear water.
