A black and white landscape photo of a mountain lake. The scene is hour glass shaped. A bay of a larger lake is in the foreground with a tiny island in the middle. It becomes a narrow neck in the center of the image and a much larger lake is seen in the distance. Dark clouds rain on far distant mountains. The bay in the foreground is surrounded by conifer tree covered slopes. It is very cloudy and a beam of sunlight comes from the upper left, behind the photographer, to illuminate the island and the right side of the bay.

@elaterite Beautiful shot. Do I recall hearing there was a wildfire there in the last couple years?

@breitensteinart Thank you! Nope, no fire...yet. The 2021 Caldor fire threatened the area though. That's the one that started on the west side of the Sierra (near Pollack Pines) and burned to the east side (South Tahoe). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caldor_Fire

And that was the same year the Dixie Fire in the north also burned from the west side to the east side of the Sierra. Unprecedented. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie_Fire

One day in Reno I remember seeing the smoke plumes blowing east on both sides of the city.
